The Kidnapping of Edward Pink. The Capture.

The Kidnapping of Edward Pink: The Capture. Oil on canvas, 14″x18″.

It occurred to me that I really haven’t covered the actual capturing of Edward Pink.  This painting hopefully describes it well enough, but if it doesn’t, you will just have to wait until the fall when the official ‘Kidnapping of Edward Pink’ calendar is released.  It will answer all remaining questions. I promise.

I think I may have painted Truman Capote in the background at this Black and White Ball.  Notice how our kidnapper is brave enough to wear hot pink gloves? Yes. She’s a rule breaker.

I suspect that poor long suffering Edward Pink covets the coyote’s freedom. At least I think that’s a coyote.  I’ve never seen one in real life and I didn’t bother to research what one looked like.  So it could be a big dog or a wolf.

Just look at these two.  Hardly blending in with Gstaad ski crowd.  I suspect they’re on the move– or at least she is, and he is forced to come along for the ride.  But for what reason they are on the lam, well, that can’t be revealed just yet.

The plot is thickening for Edward Pink.  It seems she has taken him to a hotel-  or perhaps somewhere more private like her own lair discreetly cloaked in pink bougainvillea.

I know the day is coming when I will have to explain why and how Edward Pink has been kidnapped.   Does this mysterious brunette have unnatural superhuman strength?  Is she blackmailing him?  How is she able to keep him under her thumb so easily?  And now there’s a Spaniel involved.  The prequel to this story is coming soon.

John has informed me that this is a truly ridiculous painting.   However he keeps looking at it and smiling so I just think he’s jealous that he’s not Edward Pink with all of his problems.   So there you go, Edward Pink is still being kidnapped but he’s no longer on a sailboat, rather a speedboat somewhere south of someplace beautiful.
