Finnegan’s Christmas

Here's a photo montage of Finnegan opening a Christmas present from my parents.  If you look closely in picture 8 you can see it's a snowman cookie.  He only got half of it so far (Cavaliers are prone to weight issues) but he certainly enjoyed his half.  And yes, I am wearing the 'unspeakable pink bathrobe'.  It's warm and my mother-in-law gave it to me and I'll leave it at that.

Happiness is a puzzle- literally

For a few months now I have been telling John that I really wanted a puzzle.  This 'puzzled' him as I've never shown much interest in puzzles and therefore he never took me seriously.  However, the other day while we stood in the most confusing section of a toy store (what has happened to toys?) I noticed the puzzle aisle and scampered over to find a fabulous Marilyn Monroe puzzle.  This is all I wanted for Christmas.  A $7.99 puzzle has made me very happy.  However, I did have to buy it for myself as John still didn't quite believe me.  Later that evening we watched Liz Taylor in 'Night Watch' which is a bizarre but extremely watchable  film, and there was Liz working on a puzzle.  I felt a little less of a big nerd for wanting to play with a puzzle.   Liz made it look quite glamorous with her big diamonds and rubies.

Perhaps I'll get the diamonds and rubies for next Christmas.

I hope all of you have a fabulous and fulfilling holiday season and thanks so much for taking the time to look at my work and read my crazy ramblings.   I hope to have some more originals ready by the end of this week- that is if I can tear myself away from the puzzle.

Winter Walk

Winter Walk, oil on canvas, 8"x10".  For sale on etsy.

This does look cold doesn't it?  Makes me shiver.  And there is no doubt that this young lady isn't appropriately dressed for the weather.

Mildred Caught The Fox

Mildred Caught The Fox, oil on canvas, 12"x16".  Sold.

I think there could be a couple of different ways to interpret this one.  Has Mildred legitimately caught the fox and is giving him a little sweet reward?  Or is Mildred a little devious and has simply lured the fox to the stable with the thumbprint cookie and will pretend that she caught him fair and square?  I'm thinking it's the latter. Well, that way it saves them a lot of time, effort, and aggravation.  Particularly for Mr. Fox.

Not sure if I ever mentioned this but I'm a notorious cheat.  If there is a game, I want to win and I will cheat to do so.  Monopoly really brings out my worst side.  Never position me near the money, watch my hands at all times, and keep an eye on the dice.  Oh and I'm not pouring those glasses of wine to the brim for nothing.  The more you drink, the less you will notice my cheating ways.
