Exciting things are happening here at Janet Hill Studio! My new website and my new blog are up! Please visit my site and tell me what you think. I especially love the portfolio page- it was much more than I ever could have anticipated.
I would really love to thank Ashley Yousling from Bella Cosa Design for all of her hard work and for making this such a super smooth transition for me. We always seemed to be on the same page from the very beginning with sharing ideas and the result is a website that far exceeded my expectations.
Oh, and if you're wondering what the heck is with the Christmas painting, it's actually one that I worked on for a card company, and I'll likely be releasing the original next month on etsy. Just thought that I should provide some sort of visual stimulation!

I just wanted to mention that I'll be switching around my mailing day to tomorrow (Wednesday) and posting a painting (or two) on Thursday evening. There will be no original work posted on Wednesday. It's just for this week. I'll be posting work tonight on etsy also, so please check back later today!

Some pretty flowers to end the week. Although, I'll be working through the weekend to get some new paintings in my etsy shop for next week. Back on Monday!

I just thought I should mention that lately my oil paintings have been taking a little longer than usual to dry thanks to humidity- especially my paintings with green paint. For some reason, the green paint has slower dryers in it. So if you have purchased a painting in the past few weeks and are wondering where it is- it is either on it's way, or it's stuck in my studio slowly drying. It is a nuisance, I know. I just would rather hold them a little longer and ship them out when I don't run the risk of smearing paint around on the packing tissue. Thank you for your patience!

I'll be taking a break from posting any new work until Monday. I'm having a mini-breakdown dealing with shipping prints and getting caught up on emails, problems, and paperwork. Lately, I have found myself moving further and further away from producing original work and more and more time packing up prints and dealing with the more business related side of what I do. I'm considering not offering prints anymore (or at least for a while) because of all the extra work involved, and I feel that I need to come up with a more efficient system getting them packed up and shipped out without cutting my day in half.
I have so many amazing buyers and wonderful people that I have met through etsy and my blog, and I love what I do when I'm in my studio, but sometimes the other side of this business can be pretty disheartening. Ugh. I'm just feeling sorry for myself today.
