The Lady Never Liked Having Her Portrait Painted, oil on canvas, 12"x14". Sold.
I can relate. Except that it's having my photograph taken, which I'm sure I've complained about several times already. I don't know what happens and believe me I've studied it carefully and so has John. I never look like how I really look. It's like a completely different person staring back at me. At first I just thought it was vanity (naturally) but I've had second and third opinions on this and everyone is in agreement- the person in the photo is a stranger. Creepy. I think it's inherited or something as my mother doesn't look like herself in photos either. I even had an great aunt who is better known as 'Evil Aunt Kate' and she was a renowned beauty (but quite evil), and yet there is no photographic evidence as she refused to have her picture taken. I'm thinking that there's more to this story than what I've been told. This is where family legends start....

The Kitty Foyle Dress, oil on canvas, 6"x8". 364 Days Of Dresses. Sold.
Alrighty, this one will likely need some explanation. A Kitty Foyle dress is a dark dress with white accents- collar and cuffs. It was named after Ginger Rogers' character from a movie called 'Kitty Foyle' in which she wore a dress of the above description. It is more famously connected with Wednesday Addams' Dress from 'The Addams Family'.
See how I tied in a a dress with Halloween and Shocktoberfest? I'm pretty proud of that.

The Tokyo Rose Dress, 6"x8", oil on canvas. Sold.
While painting this one, I couldn't get the 'Tokyo Rose' song from 'Idle Eyes' out of my head. Actually, it's not a bad 80's song- a classic possibly, but maybe that's because I'm Canadian and they were a Canadian band. If you need any background information about the actual Tokyo Rose, please click here.

Trudy Was Not A Typical Wallflower, oil on canvas, 11"x14". Sold.
Remember school dances? I went to a few in my time. I don't remember much- but whenever I catch a whiff of Polo cologne, I'm suddenly back in grade 8 at a dance.
