I was inspired to paint this painting after noticing some of the amazing looking homemade marshmallows that are being sold on etsy. One seller that I'll be ordering from shortly is Have It Confections. Everything looks so amazing on their site. I think I put on five pounds just looking at all the different nougats and marshmallows.
And remember how I mentioned that my mother's old Joy Of Cooking Book would appear in a painting...well it's in this painting- see it? I was going to paint a realist type painting of the battered book, and I still might, it's just that this seemed to be the perfect setting to stick it in.

ps – this looks a little like my kitchen. minus the blue oven…..
