Blancmange

Blancmange, oil on canvas, 8"x10". Sold.

I've never tasted a blancmange. Although, I do find wiggly food rather interesting. I mean, what is a blancmange? Is it a custard, is it jello, is it aspic? And wasn't there an 80's band called Blancmange? It truly is a unique dessert.

    Hi, Janet:
Coincidentally, the bakers at Tuesdays with Dorie (all 300 or so of us) just made blancmange together last week. If you think of it as whipped cream jello, you'll get the idea (and it's delicious!) Come by and see.

I know I haven't tasted anything like that either, but this is beautiful!!

    Hugs to you,

Our TWD baking group made Blanc Manger. It was shockingly light and delicious. Think of sweetned whipped cream and summer berries. So yummy

    Hi Audrey,

Wow that does look good. I'll have to try it sometime- although, I don't see it on menus much. It's kind of old school. Which of course, makes it pretty cool.
