Esmarelda, oil on canvas, 6″ x 6″, SOLD.
So here’s something a little different. I haven’t painted one of my ‘oil sketch ladies’ in a while, so I thought I would go for it. I always wanted an elaborate name like Esmarelda, but my parents decided to call me Janet. It was the 70′s and they were likely decked out in bellbottoms at the time. I was thrilled to get married, because at least I could tack another name on to my existing surname of ‘Hill’. However, ‘Woodward-Hill’ is a little too lengthy and pompous to use for painting purposes. So I’m back to square one.
ps- that is not a lip ring!
Winter Irises, oil on canvas, 8″ x 10″. SOLD.
I really don’t know what ‘Winter Irises’ are…in fact, I made it up. However, there is something very ‘wintery’ about this room and I was inspired to paint irises…actually to be honest, they started out as paperwhites because that is what I’m trying to grow at the moment in my kitchen, but paperwhites didn’t give the painting enough of a colour contrast so I painted irises. I didn’t need much inspiration for the wintery look in this painting since I believe the temperature here in chilly Ontario reached a lovely -14 and that’s just plain annoying.
I’ve listed on Etsy again. Sorry about the delay- I was out of my 3″ x 5″ canvases so I had to wait for the delivery.
