Lilacs, oil on canvas, 8″ x 10″. SOLD.
My friend Martha is to thank for this one. She attended a show that I had last Saturday and admired a small painting that I did of hydrangeas. She asked if they were lilacs, and after correcting her (while at the same time, desperately trying to conceal my rage…hee hee), I paused and tried to remember if I have ever painted lilacs. I love lilacs, and it seemed rather silly of me to have neglected to paint them. So Martha, my dear sweet poet Martha…thanks for inspiring me.

That Chandelier really isn’t centered over the table. I’m not sure what I was initially thinking. I thought about moving it, then decided against it. Not necessarily because I’m lazy, but I liked the juxtaposition of the various elements in the painting. I really like to keep my viewers guessing, and of course, drive those with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to the brink.
