A Proper Chair, oil on canvas, 3″ x 5″. $58.00 CDN.SOLD.
I can’t honestly explain why I called this painting what I did. It just seemed like a good, solid, albeit fancy chair. I would love to own this chair, but I doubt I would ever really sit on it. It doesn’t look particularly comfy.
The Gardener’s House, oil on canvas, 8″ x 10″. SOLD.
I have a very romanticized view on gardening. It seems like such a civilized pastime….
I wish I could garden, but instead I manage to mangle or kill everything that I plant. I devoted myself this year to one tomato plant that refused to grow, although eventually it produced one odd and unfortunate looking tomato that died within minutes of ripening. My father is a wonderful gardener but unfortunately he didn’t pass those special gardening genes to me. Maybe one day it will catch on, but until that day I will have to get over my fear of spiders and worms and my bad habit of bashing anything to bits that has more than four legs.
The Open Window, oil on canvas, 8″ x 10″. $89.00 CDN. SOLD.
I seem to have a theme this week. Perhaps it’s time for a vacation to the south of France. This has been the first week with snow in the air, so I guess my brain is wrestling with the onset of winter and is longing for spring flowers and sunshine.
I should just give in to the fact that six months of darkness and cold are descending upon Stratford. Although, on the plus side that means lots of red wine and hot baths.
Sofa In The Attic, oil on canvas, 3″ x 5″. SOLD.
An unusually moody painting for me. I painted it on Halloween…I guess I was just in a darker frame of mind. Likely the result of my husband showing me some creepy 1970′s Italian horror movies.
