I thought that the star of the piece would be the gold shoes, but it was the socks that I enjoyed painting the most. I had no idea I would get so involved in the little lumps and bumps in the material. All I want to do is paint socks now. I’m quite obsessed. I suppose you had to be there.

Oooh. Beautiful. I had a pair of sparkly, gold, open-toed, high-heeled, plastic shoes when I was about 3. To this day I think they were one of my best presents ever. And I still wear sparkly shoes (even to work).
You sure are off to a bang this year, Janet!
(I think you must have given up on the canvas prints, but I remain hopeful that some of the paintings will show up.)
Hi Susan,
Those shoes that you described sound very much like the pair that I had when I was a little girl. It was right around the time my parents bought me a yellow and white canopy bed from Sears and I thought I was really something with my plastic shoes and my canopy bed. I love that you wear sparkly shoes to work- it would brighten up the work day.
I haven’t given up on my canvas prints. I’ll be honest and say that I ran out of my staples and I’ve been too lazy to go to the hardware store to buy new ones- but I’m going to remedy that shortly.
This is gorgeous!! I agree, whilst the shoes are great, I do fancy the socks
Glad we didn’t buy bunk beds!
PRETTY!!!
I love the socks they look so realistic. And I love love the shoes. wish they were mine.
Ooooo love this! The shoes are dazzling but you are right the details are in the socks!!! I cannot wait to fill my first home (which we should be closing on this week) with Janet Hill Gorgeousness!!!!!! So far I have 5 or 6 prints and some cards I plan to frame as well
