Mildred Caught The Fox, oil on canvas, 12"x16".  Sold.

I think there could be a couple of different ways to interpret this one.  Has Mildred legitimately caught the fox and is giving him a little sweet reward?  Or is Mildred a little devious and has simply lured the fox to the stable with the thumbprint cookie and will pretend that she caught him fair and square?  I'm thinking it's the latter. Well, that way it saves them a lot of time, effort, and aggravation.  Particularly for Mr. Fox.

Not sure if I ever mentioned this but I'm a notorious cheat.  If there is a game, I want to win and I will cheat to do so.  Monopoly really brings out my worst side.  Never position me near the money, watch my hands at all times, and keep an eye on the dice.  Oh and I'm not pouring those glasses of wine to the brim for nothing.  The more you drink, the less you will notice my cheating ways.

  1. Mildred is definitely saving the fox from the other foxhunters. He will have a safe, happy life on Milred’s estate with all the cookies he wants. In fact, I think Mildred lives next to Black Walnut Manor and this is the same fox that keeps turning up there.

I just love my little fantasy worlds–that have absolutely nothing to do w/ the suckery of real life.

    • Ah yes, the ‘suckery of real life’. Totally agree. And Mr. Fox will lead a happy and plump life on the estate which is likely next door to Black Walnut Manor. I’ll have more for that series hopefully next month.

  2. Any chance another print of this will be on your etsy shop? I was hoping to buy it after we moved, and I’m so sad to see they’re gone!
