The Cotillion Gown, oil on canvas, 6"x6".  Sold.  364 Days Of Dresses.

Even though I really don't take many weekends off , I think I'm going to give it a try for this one.  It's been a long week of painting and it's giving me stiff shoulders and a wonky neck.  I think I'll try and do the standard things like going to the market and perhaps even cut the grass.  This will fill John with fear though as the last time I cut the grass, I ran over the power cord twice and almost got electrocuted.   This incident caused John to study my every move for about a week and determine that I might have ADD or something of that nature.  Basically, I don't pay attention to what I'm doing because I'm constantly being distracted, or I simply lose interest and walk away.  Earlier in the week I somehow managed to get our coffee maker to explode all over the kitchen which I didn't even notice.  Coffee grinds flying, hissing, smoke, and a funny smell didn't  even tip me off that something was terribly wrong.   I got in big trouble for that one. Sniff.

  1. Beautiful painting. I had to laugh about you being distracted ~ I am the same way. I can leave the kitchen on my way to the living room to get something and get distracted by one thing after another until an hour has passed and I suddenly remember I was going to do something else. I’ve also been known to forget eggs boiling on the stove and boil all the water out of the pan, thus melding the pan to the burner. I’ve actually done that a couple times. Oops.

Gorgeous painting! It appears a much needed break is in order. Your little mishaps are hilarious, but I’m glad that both you and your husband are safe and in one piece. : )
