11"x14" , oil on canvas.  Sold.

I thought it was time to introduce Silke who is the matriarch of the manor.  I'm now working on her husband Hugo and realized that he's a real rarity for me as I hardly ever paint men, well except for figurine men and 'Sailor Jack'.   So I'm pretty excited about it but a little terrified that he will look a bit effeminate.

I also should comment on the crazy postal strike that we are having here in Canada in case anyone is concerned about receiving their prints and paintings promptly.   So far, it is a 'rotating' strike which means that it affects different Canadian cities at different times and each strike lasts 24-48 hours.  It's a little confusing but the mail is very much moving and the way I figure it, it's probably faster since a lot of people are confused and not mailing anything so there is less volume......this is what I've been telling myself.   A few of my friends work for Canada Post and are a quick source of information for John and me.   If anything changes for the worse we will update our etsy shop and contact buyers with alternative options for shipping.  In the meantime, it's business as usual!
