The Curtsy Dress, 6"x8", oil on canvas.  Sold.

A sweet little summer dress- how I wish I could sew this.  It reminds me of one of my sewing disasters a few years ago.  I bought a pattern and struggled to make what should have been a simple fall dress, however, I managed to sew it so that it was permanently inside out.  That was one of my better sewing disasters.

  1. I am still learning how to sew. Right now I am attempting a wrap dress and just tried it on and it is very revealing. Back to the drawing board.

  2. Janet,
You’re too funny. I can’t sew a thing, don’t care to learn either. Thats pretty bad when I have to get my Dad to sew a button, if one ever falls off. Good Grief!!!!

  3. I used to do a great deal of sewing, including two prom gowns, my wedding dress, and lots for my daughter as she was growing up. Now neither of us have a figure, so we are not as clothes conscious anymore. Your paintings help me dream of those days.

    Olá Janet,
Sou professora de Moda e fiquei encantada com seu trabalho, mesmo porque você direciona (em muitos momentos) para este universo! Parabéns pela excelente idéia de trabalhar com esta década tão feminina como os anos 50′.
